Europcar Mobility Group UK's initial carbon reduction programme has seen average C02 per company car coming down from 129 g/km to just 29 g/km.

What's more, nearly 80% of Europcar Mobility Group UK company car drivers now drive battery electric.

Due to this success, the company has renewed its contract for the supply and management of its company cars for employees with CBVC Vehicle Management.

The new contract extends the partnership for a further three years.

Almost nine out of 10 (89%) of cars leased through Arval on salary sacrifice are now an electric vehicle (EV), an increase from just four out of 10 (39%) two years ago.

Arval says that over the same time period, the total number of cars provided using its salary sacrifice scheme, Arval Ignition, has risen by 252%.

BMW has launched a company car driver loyalty scheme, designed to engage these drivers with the brand, the same way retail customers do.

Historically, company car drivers who order through their fleet manager or leasing company have limited opportunity for brand engagement, something that will change for drivers who sign up to Inside Edge.

“Company car drivers chose BMW with the same expectations as retail customers, yet their experience with the brand is entirely different, just because of the way they procure their vehicle,” said Rob East, Head of Corporate Sales.

HMRC’s latest Benefit in Kind statistics indicate that during the past two years, there has been a reduction of seventy thousand company car drivers, and the BVRLA puts this down to an uncertain and unsupportive tax regime.

BVRLA members have been reporting indications of a decline in demand for company cars and this trend is reflected in the government’s statistics .
